Play Group

Last week Brady and I went to the Greenbrier baby pool for Brady's play group! Markey and Audrey belong and were sweet enough to host the play group there. It is such a nice baby pool! You may have noticed there haven't been any play group posts in a few months...2 out of the 3 previous months we did "moms night out" instead of a play group and the other one Brady and I had a conflict and couldn't go. Brady had a little bit of a rough time this month. He liked the water but was a little overwhelmed with all the people. He has a shy side that has come out lately and whenever unfamiliar people are around he clings to me (or whoever familiar is around). My mom has assured me that this is only a phase and reminded me that my brother was just like this (he is now the most out going person I know). We did go to another pool with friends this weekend and he did much, much better so I was happy about that. Hopefully this phase will end soon!

Father's Day

We had a good day Sunday celebrating Father's Day! I let Brad sleep in (just like he did for me on Mother's Day) then Brady and I brought him breakfast in bed and gave him his presents. Later that day we went down to Gratz Park to have Brady's one year pictures taken. I actually didn't mean to schedule this on Father's day but it turned out to be a a fun family thing to do that day. We were so lucky because it rained before and after his pictures but not during! (I will share them when I get them) Sunday night my mom, dad, and brother came for dinner so I got to spend some time with my own dad! I am so lucky to have such a great dad and am so lucky that Brad is such a good dad to Brady!

Brady's First Birthday!

Brady turned one on June 9th! My how time flies...that was such a quick year! Since Brady's birthday fell on a Saturday, we decided to have his party on his actual birthday. We kept the party small this year with family and a few close friends and I am glad we did it that way. Brady has become a little overwhelmed with big crowds lately so this turned out perfectly. Although we kept it small we still wanted it to be a special, memorable day which I think we accomplished! We started the day with Brad and I singing "Happy Birthday" to Brady when we got him out of his crib...he loved it but looked a little confused, ha! Then, we brought Brady into our bedroom and gave him one of his presents..of course he was most excited about the wrapping paper and ribbon! We hung out for awhile and got ready for the party. Brady loved the attention at his party, especially when everyone clapped after Happy Birthday...he was grinning from ear to ear. We were so overwhelmed with the sweet gifts...we have such special family and friends! We had a great day... I can't believe my baby is one!! And...Happy Birthday to Lauren ...Brady loved sharing his birthday with you!!
