Brady's First (real) Haircut

Yesterday Brad and I took Brady to have his first haircut!  We have trimmed his bangs on our own before but decided it was time for a real haircut.  I had been trying to wait until he was a year old because someone told me it was bad luck to have a baby's hair cut before that.  I decided whoever made that rule had a baby with very little hair, haha.  Brady has TONS of hair!  We took him to one of those kids places and he got to sit in a firetruck and watch Elmo.  He was terrified at first and cried.  I held onto him and he calmed down and ended up handling it really well!  I will say the lady didn't listen very well, we told her just a little trim and she took a lot off! He looks so grown up!  Here are pictures...the first one is a before shot...

Birthdays and a Sleepover

Last weekend was filled with lots of fun!  Friday night Brad and I had a party to go to for our friends Ashley and Sarah's birthdays.  We asked Tommie and Gayle if they could watch Brady for a couple of hours and they offered to keep him overnight!  It was so nice of them....we love Brady so much but every once in awhile a night out with friends (and each other) is just what we need.  Brady did so well....actually he slept from 8 to 8 which is longer than he sleeps at home!  Brad and I had a great time with friends so, everyone had a good night!  Saturday we had another party to go to but this time all three of us went.  Lucy turned 30 and her husband Jimmy planned a dinner at Saul Good.  We had a great time and Brady behaved so well! He was in awe of the balloon Lucy's sister, Betsy gave him.   I can't believe Lucy is 30 (and I am close behind her)!  We have been friends since we were 15...crazy! I remember when we thought 30 was SOOOO old..haha.

10 Months Old

We are officially into double digits...Brady turned 10 months old on April 9th!  It's been a busy month atthe Holbrook household.  Brady has continued to crawl like crazy!  He is now pulling up and can even stand on his own for a few seconds.  Brady is liking baby food better (his favorites are sweet potatoes and pretty much any fruit).  He is also eating some table foods but we are taking it very slow after he choked on a cheerio one day and almost gave me a heart attack!  He is becoming more independent and likes to play in his playpen (which we purchased recently and has been a lifesaver in order to get things done ie: make dinner, put a load of laundry in).  We had to buy rail guards for his crib this month because he was chewing around the edges...yuck!  He is on a pretty consistent nap schedule and usually takes two a day.  He is in mostly 12 month clothes and he still is very attached to his pacifier.  He makes the funniest faces and makes all kinds of sounds but no words yet.  Brady is usually a very happy boy...we are having so much fun with him!  The pictures this month were almost impossible...ha!  They definitely aren't the best but at least I got a few!

Already spotted the sign!

And I thought my phone would distract him...

One smile!

Trying to crawl away!

Loves to stand!

It has been a great month!  Only two months until we have a one year old...crazy!!

Brady' First Easter

We had a wonderful Easter!  Easter is much more exciting with a little one around.  We started out the day at home and Brady got his Easter basket. He was a very lucky boy...he got an Easter basket from the Easter bunny (aka Brad and I) AND 3 more! His grandparents in Florida mailed him one and both sets of grandparents here gave him one...he is one loved little boy! We hung out for awhile and then headed to church.  It was a very nice service...I love to see everyone (especially the kids) dressed up in their Easter outfits!

After mass we headed over to my mom and dad's house. Mom had set up a little Easter egg hunt for Brady and David and Brad helped him find the eggs while I of course took pictures!

We had a little down time and then everyone else arrived...Tommie, Gayle, Wick, Lisa, Stacey, Betty, LaVerne and Tom all joined us!  It was so nice to be together and it made for an easy day because there was no need to go to two different houses.  Brady LOVED all the attention and being held by everyone.  We are so blessed with such a wonderful family!  Brady did get a little fussy toward the end of the day mainly because he had refused to nap but he ended up falling asleep snuggled next to his daddy...so cute!

We had such a wonderful day filled with family!  I hope everyone had a great Easter!

Easter Pictures

I couldn't resist taking Brady to have pictures made in his Easter outfit. We haven't had professional pictures done since he was 4 months old so it was time anyway! Brad was playing golf so my mom came with Brady and I which was a huge help.  He was very well behaved and the pictures are pretty adorable!  We are so excited for Brady's first Easter tomorrow!  Here are a few of my favorites..

The two times we have had pictures done I have ended up spending more than planned but I just can't help it! How do you narrow it down?  Oh well, you have pictures forever, right?  I hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!

Fun with Nana!

Last weekend we went to Morehead to visit Brad's grandmother and Brady's great grandmother (Nana). Her birthday was this week.  Brady slept the whole way there and was a happy boy when we arrived.  We had such a nice visit!  Nana looked great and was excited to see Brady and he was very excited to see her.  We lucked out because Brad's aunt and uncle and cousins were also there so, we got to see lots of family.  Brady even had his first taste of icing from Nana's birthday cake...he loved it...he may not look much like me but he has my sweet tooth, haha.

C-A-T-S, Cats, Cats,Cats!

UK did it, they won the NCAA tournament... National champs! I feel like everyone in Lexington has been in a good mood today (and maybe a little tired). Brady was sound asleep for the game last night but he has had fun cheering the cats on throughout the season! Way to go Cats!!
