Brady's Baptism

Brady's baptism was Sunday at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.   Brad and I have gone to Elizabeth Ann Seton for awhile now and we were excited to have Brady's baptism there.  We chose to do a private ceremony with just close friends and family.  We were a little nervous because we knew this would make for a long day...we went to mass first then had the baptism immediately following.  Brady did so well!  He slept through most of mass and didn't cry at all during the baptism, not even when the water was poured on his head! He wore two sentimental items....a gown that my grandfather and brother both wore when they were baptized and shawl that my aunt Pat and Uncle Bill sent us from England that my cousins, David and Clare wore. After the baptism we had a reception at my parent's house.  It was such a special day and we were blessed to be surrounded by friends and family including Brady's Godparents, David and Lucy who we know Brady is so lucky to have! On a totally different note...Tyler and Bret had their baby today! Welcome to the world James Brereton...Brady can't wait to play with you!!



5 Months Old!

Brady turned five months old yesterday! I can't believe another month has gone by.  As far as his eating and sleeping not much has changed from last month.  His personality however, is becoming more apparent by the day!  He is usually a smiley, giggly baby but when he is not happy he sure lets us know it and he can flip on a dime!   Brady continues to interact with us more and more which I love.  He can make some really loud, hilarious noises which crack us up.  I have mentioned before that Brady is happiest without his clothes on so, our new nightly routine involves letting him play, roll around etc. in just his diaper for a little while before he gets his pj's on. He is so funny during this time!  He is still teething and this has been a little rough in the evenings.  It doesn't seem to bother him quite as much during the day though.  His five month photo shoot was funny...he actually smiled quite a bit but he is definitely harder to keep still these days!

It's been a fun month! I can't believe he is almost half a year old!

Dinner with Family

Last night we had my mom and dad and Tommie and Gayle over for dinner.  They do SO much for us so it nice to be able to do a little something for them!  Plus, since they were at our house we were actually able to socialize with people past 8:00 rather than rushing home to get Brady to bed! My parents arrived first and when they got here Brady was asleep in his swing.  He had such a confused look on his face when he woke up and saw my dad first!  Like, "I know you're my Granddad, but why are you at my house?"  Tommie and Gayle came after they left the football game and he was really wondering why he had four of his grandparents at his house! He loved every minute of it though....extra hugs, kisses, and playtime!  The boys (minus Brady) ate dinner in front of the tv so they could watch the Alabama/LSU game while the girls (plus Brady) sat at the table.  Brady sat in his bumbo seat and entertained us.

It was a fun night with family!  Last night was daylight savings time.  I was sure that that would mean I was up at 6:00 instead of 7:00 with Brady but he actually slept till 8:00...yay! Let's hope he sleeps well again tonight!

Happy Halloween!

Even though I already took lots pictures of Brady in his Halloween costume (at his play group), I couldn't resist taking more pictures today since it is after all his first Halloween! I gave Brady his Halloween basket this morning before we left for Gram T's house. Since he can't have candy yet we filled it with a couple of books and a teething toy!

Brady spent the day with Gram T and after work we headed over to my parent's house.  They have spent the last eleven days in England visiting family and going to my cousin's wedding and they just got home late last night!  It was great to see them and I think they were pretty excited to see us (especially Brady, haha) too! A big thank you to Gram T and Pepaw for watching Brady the whole time they were gone!  Here are some more pictures of Brady in his pumpkin costume....

We did not take Brady trick or treating this year since I am pretty sure I would've ended up eating all the candy! Instead Brad, Brady and I handed out candy.  We had tons of trick or treaters and ended up running out of candy (oops!)  Hope everyone is having a Happy Halloween!



October Play Group!

Tonight our play group met for the second time!  It was a Halloween theme and all the babies wore their costumes.  We had a lot more moms and babies there this time and it was so cute!  All the costumes were adorable....Brady was a pumpkin, there was a lion, a jack in the box, a flower, several chicks, a puppy,  a turkey, Buzz Lightyear and Woody! Brady was once again mesmerized by all the other babies.  He was really well behaved other than one little melt down when one of the chicks screamed in his face and scared him! She was being playful but he didn't know what to think, haha, poor guy!  He was worn out by the end and so was I!

It's so nice to get together with other moms to share ideas and advice! We are already looking forward to our next play group!

Dinner With Friends!

Friday night Lauren and Scott had us and some other friends over for dinner.  They invited Brady too which was so nice! Brad and I don't get out very often these days and it was so nice to have a night with friends without having to find someone to watch Brady.  We took Brady in his pj's so he would be all ready for bed when we got home.  We decided to be brave and try to feed him his last bottle there and see if he would fall asleep so we could hang out a little longer.  Well, he must have known we were having fun because he was wide awake and ready to have fun too! So, we headed home around 9:00 to get Brady to bed but we had a great time while we were there!

The rest of the weekend has been nice and relaxing.  We ran a few errands, went to church, and just hung out at home...

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a fun and busy weekend....as usual it flew by! Saturday was Tyler's baby shower!  It was a beautiful day for a shower and it was lots of fun celebrating Tyler and Baby Jones! Tyler's baby boy will be here next month and we can't wait for his arrival!

While I was at the shower Brad and Gram T took Brady to have pictures made.  I accidently booked the appointment at the same time as the shower (I am a little scattered these days!)  but, I knew Brad and Tommie could handle it.  They said Brady did really well and smiled for at least a few pictures.  I can't wait to see them! Saturday night we decided to go out to eat. We just didn't feel like making anything or ordering a pizza so we went to one of our favorites, Mi Pequena Hacienda. Brady did so well and it was nice to get out!  On Sunday we went to church and then spent most of the day at home.  My friend Lindsey was in town and came by to meet Brady. Lindsey lives in New York now and I don't get to see her very often.  We have been friends since the fourth grade and it was great to see her!
