Brady Meets Penelope

Last weekend our good friends, Molly and Eli came in town and they brought their new addition, Penelope!  Penelope was born in Decemeber and we were so anxious to meet her.  Brad and Eli went to highschool together and have been good friends ever since. We always look forward to Molly and Eli's visits to Lexington and this time we were especially excited because of Penelope!   We had such a great time together.  We headed over to Eli's family's house after Brady had his 1:00 bottle which is usually when he would take a nap.  He was so fussy when we first got there and was so shy!  Luckily after a little time he warmed up and became the happy, outgoing baby he is at home.   Watching Brady and Penelope cracked me up.  She smiled and smiled at him and he just wanted to play with her toes..haha.

Spring Has Sprung!

We have had wonderful weather for the past couple of weeks!  We have had a few days that felt more like summer than spring actually, with temperatures in the 80's. This is Brady's first spring and so far he is loving it.  One of his favorite things is to be outside and he has been a lucky boy lately because he has spent a lot of time outside!  My mom has been taking him on walks everyday when he is with her.  One day she decided to take him to the park near her house and they tried out the baby swing...he absolutely loved it! So, he has been with her (and David and Dad) a few more times and Brad and I have taken him too...he gets so happy! He has also loved just playing in the grass!

We have had a great couple of weeks enjoying the sunshine and can't wait for more to come...hopefully the weather will stay nice!











9 Month Checkup

Brady had his 9 month checkup with Dr. Warner last week and he handled it like a champ!  Luckily, he didn't have to have any shots but he did have to be weighed, measured, and worst of all have his finger pricked.  I was shocked when he didn't cry during the finger prick! The nurse said babies rarely do though...I think it hurts!  Here are his 9 month stats:
Length: 27.5 inches (25%)
Weight: 20 lbs. 2 oz. (50%)
Head: 46.5 (75%)
Looks like so far Brady has my height (sorry buddy) and my big head!  The important thing is he is a healthy boy.

At the end of his appointment we scheduled his one year checkup!! I can't believe it!!



9 Months Old

Brady turned 9 months old on March 9th!  Each month there have been changes but I would say this month has brought the most change!  Brady is now crawling which is a whole new world.  He is so curious about EVERYTHING which is a good thing but definitely keeps us on our toes!  He also has several teeth now...he is really starting to look like a little boy, not a little baby.  He is mostly in 9 or 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.  He is still having his bottles and baby food but hopefully Dr. Warner will give us the go ahead to introduce some table foods when we see him for Brady's check-up tomorrow (Brady is not loving baby food).  He has become a wild sleeper!  He moves all around, rolls over and even turns completely around sometimes.  Unfortunately, this has been waking him up so, we have had a few rough nights.  Brady is very strong willed already and has a fun and feisty personality.  We love him so much!  Once again the pictures were very difficult.  Now I know why people use the onesies with the month number on them!  All he wants to do is eat the paper!



Weekend Fun

This past weekend started out a little scary with crazy weather!  I was told to leave work early so I headed straight to my parent's house where Brady was and where a nice, safe basement was. Brady, my parents, David, and I hung out in the basement while the storm passed.  Brad was stuck at work.   Luckily, Lexington dodged any major damage but other parts of Kentucky were hit really hard.  So scary and so sad for those affected!  Saturday we woke up to sunny skies, thankfully.  My mom and I went to the Keeneland sale and found some goodies then to lunch.  It was a fun girls afternoon!  Brady and Brad hung out and had a boys afternoon complete with a trip to Lowes (Brad is training Brady early to love his favorite store).  Saturday night, my dad and brother went to Louisville for the Jimmy Buffett concert and my mom came over for dinner.  We had a nice time and Brady was very excited to have Nannie at his house!  Sunday was the big UK/Florida game...Go Cats!  It was a fun weekend once the storm passed!

  

On the Move!

We officially have a crawler! Brady has been working so hard at it for the past couple of weeks and on Saturday all that hard work paid off. He has been on the move ever since! It's time to baby proof ASAP. Luckily we already have a couple of gates up to keep the dogs out of certain areas but we need a couple more and some outlet plugs. I can't believe how quickly he is growing and learning new things. We can tell he is pretty excited that he can get where he wants to go without our help now. He is definitely keeping us on our toes! Three Ladies and a Baby

We have had a fun couple of days. Tommie flew in Thursday night from Florida for a long weekend. She couldn't take not seeing Brady for so long! He is one loved little boy! Tommie kept Brady on Friday during the day and aunt Vern came to spend the day too! Brady had a fun day with them! Then, last night Tommie and Aunt B offered to come over and watch Brady while Brad and I went to dinner. All three of us were very excited! Brady behaved well and was a happy boy. Brad and I enjoyed a delicious meal at Three Suns Bistro. My parents had given Brad a gift certificate there for his birthday. We had only been there one other time but we will definitely go back.. So yummy! Tommie heads back to Florida today and will be there till the first of April, we will miss her! Aunt B is flying down with her for the week. It was so nice to see everyone these last couple of days and Brady loved his time with three of his favorite ladies! Tomorrow he will head back to one of his other favorites, Nannie!
